Netters Honored With Ivy Awards

The Harvard women's volleyball team stormed to an undefeated 7-0 Ivy season this year and much of that success has to be attributed to freshman Katherine Hart, who was just named the Ivy League Rookie of the Year.

Hart--the first-ever rookie of the year selection for Harvard--started in every match this season and led the team with 29 service aces.

In addition, the freshman middle hitter was second on the team in blocks (74) and fourth in kills (165).

Making it a true family affair, Katherine's senior sister Elissa Hart was given an unanimous nod to the All-Ivy First Team.

This is the fourth time in her career that Elissa has been among the league honor board, and the second time that she has been a first teamer.

Elissa has been a dominating force throughout the league and led the Ivies in hitting percentage throughout the season.

The senior co-captain also led the Crimson in kills with 358 and finished third in the league with 119 blocks.

Also garnering Ivy accolodes was sophomore outside hitter, Linda Jellison, who was named to the All-Ivy League Second Team and junior Melissa Forcum, who maded the Honorable Mention list.

These players powered the Crimson to its best season ever including a school record of 25 wins in the season.
