MEN'S TENNIS CLINCHES IVY TITLE BY CRUSHING DARTMOUTH; NCAAS NEXT

The Harvard men's tennis team capped off a remarkable season yesterday afternoon by downing Dartmouth at the Beren Tennis Center, 6-1.

The victory gave the 22nd-ranked Crimson (17-8, 7-0 EITA) sole possession of the Ivy League title.

Five of the six Harvard players triumphed in singles competition, including sophomore Tom Blake, who won a tough match as the top seed, 7-6, 3-6, 6-2.

In doubles, the first-seeded team of junior Mitty Arnold and co-captain Todd Meringoff notched an 8-6 triumph, while freshman Mike Passarella and Kunj Majmudar won at the third spot.

The Crimson's next challenge will be the NCAA tournament, which announced its field yesterday.

Harvard's Beren Tennis Center will host four teams in Region 1 of the tournament on May 11 and 12.

The Crimson, ranked second in the region, will face third-seed Virginia Tech at 1:30 p.m. on May 11.

The next day, the winner of that match will face either first-ranked Florida or fourth-ranked Princeton, who square off on May 11 as well.
