Nielsen Given Award

Senior Kirk Nielsen of the Harvard men's hockey team was named a GTE Academic All-American in District I yesterday.

A biology concentrator, Nielsen boasts a 3.68 grade-point average. He plans on attending medical school after graduation. On the ice, he tallied 12 goals and 16 assists for the Crimson.

Ten male students from each Division I school were named to the fall/winter at-large academic team from District I, which includes New England and New York.
