8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports

ATHLETE of the WEEK

A basketball team without a point guard is like an airplane without a pilot--it's bound to crash. Co-captain Jessica Gelman has been keeping the Harvard women's basketball team in the air all season. The personable 5'8 guard has been a vital force behind Harvard's push towards a second-straight Ivy title and has blossomed into one of the league's premier point guards.

Gelman reached a personal milestone last weekend. After dishing out seven assists Friday against Penn, she needed just two against Princeton to make 435 for her career, surpassing Barbarann Keffer '88 as Harvard's all-time assist leader.

She not only broke the record, but recorded nine more in the Crimson's rout of the Tigers.

With Gelman at the helm, Harvard has won 19 straight Ivy League games, two shy of the league record.
