PUBLICITY, THE RAISON D'ETRE

A summary of views, commentary and sometimes comedy.

By Patrick S. Chung

Somebody, quick! Give them some attention!

We could hardly have done otherwise, as yet another Harvard student publicity stunt was launched yesterday, in front of hundreds of students in the Government class taught by Michael Sandel, Harvey Mansfield and George Will.

About one minute into Professor Mansfield's introduction, he was presented with the David Duke Award for Excellence in Teaching. And then George Will was presented with the Heinrich Himlich Award.

Thirty people took to the lecture floor with placards in support of keeping Harvard "White," "Male," "Rich" and "Christian."

Ha ha ha ha. How clever! How witty! How irreverrently inappropriate! Gee, guys, you sure know how to spice up life at Harvard. Why don't you just try to throw rotten tomatoes the next time? It would be a little more honest.
