In its first meeting of the year, the North House Committee last night voted to work toward a joint winter formal for all three Quad Houses.

North House Co-Presidents Katharine J. Woo '95 and Marcos D. Velayos '95 will discuss the event with Cabot and Currier house committees. Last year, North's own winter dance only drew about 100 students.

After a discussion about noise controls in the house, the committee voted to cut off an upcoming convention scheduled for the dinning hall at midnight. Some students wanted to cancel the convention, which is scheduled for the night before the Graduate Record Exam, completely.

Defenders won out, however, citing the importance of the convention's topic, minorities in science.
