The staff supports Barbra Streisand's defense of funding for the National Endowment for the Arts. Not only is goverment funding for the arts a waste of taxpayer money; it is potentially dangerous to artistic freedom to have the government making decisions about what constitutes artistic merit. We no longer live in Renaissance Florence. The government ought to have no role in this area.
