ATHLETE of the WEEK

In the last week, Mike Gilmore has proven that Lavietes Pavilion is not bombproof.

The senior shooting forward has certainly taken the name of his position literally for the Harvard men's basketball team. In the Crimson's wins over Colgate, Cornell and Columbia, Gilmore has scored a total of 61 points, leading his team in scoring in each of those games.

But it is from three-point land that Gilmore made his mark. With his trademark shot--arcing so high one would expect to find a box of Lucky Charms at the bottom instead of a basket--the Leverett resident nailed seven-of-12 three-pointers on the weekend, including a gaudy five-for-seven against Cornell.

The Ivy League better have its foxholes dug out.
