Admission will be free to this year's Harvard-Dartmouth game, according to a new policy announced by the University yesterday.
In previous years, tickets to the game--which will be played on Saturday, October 28--were sold to students at half price.
The change in policy is an attempt to "get as many kids down there as possible," said John P. Veneziano, director of sports information.
Although in the past the enthusiasm for the Dartmouth game "was like the Yale game," Veneziano said, in recent years the game has not sold out.
Last week, The Crimson reported that only nine students purchased tickets before the Friday deadline.
The highlight of last football season was the Crimson's 35-12 victory over Dartmouth. Harvard gained a season-high 524 yards and coverted 10 of 16 third down chances.
Yale Game
Veneziano said he does not expect a similar change in policy for the Yale game, which will be played this year on Saturday, November 18 in New Haven.
Students wishing to purchase tickets to the Yale game will have to go through the same application process as in previous years.
Envelopes for the Yale game are due Friday, October 20.
