The Piano Man is coming, and he may even bring his piano.
Billy Joel will host "An Evening of Questions and Answers...and Perhaps a Few Songs" at 8 p.m. on Monday, October 3, in Sanders Theatre.
Tickets, which will be available exclusively to undergraduates and GSAS students, will be on sale at the Sanders Theatre box office Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.
All tickets are $27.50, and there is a limit of two tickets per person with appropriate student identification.
According to a statement released by the Harvard News Office late yesterday, Joel will lead a wide-ranging discussion about "the genesis of his works and the artistic process." The Grammy Award-winning singer may perform some of his songs in order to illustrate points.
"We're pleased by this opportunity to bring such an accomplished artist into our community and, at the same time, enhance our ability to assist our neighbors," said Kevin' McCluskey, the University's director of community relations.
"The format of the program will provide for a unique educational experience as well as an intimate look at one of the world's most gifted contemporary musical artists," McCluskey added.
Any tickets that remain after Friday will be made available to all members of the Harvard community with a valid I.D.
In that event, a second box office will be established at 74 Mt. Auburn Street because of the renovations at Memorial Hall, the statement said.
