Laxmen To Yale Today

The Harvard men's lacrosse team travels to New Haven this weekend to take on Yale this weekend, and there's no doubt that it will be an even, hard-fought match worthy of the Harvard-Yale rivalry.

Harvard enters the game ranked 19th in the nation with a 3-5 record overall, and a 1-2 record in the Ivy League, putting the team fourth in the Ancient Eight. Yale goes into today's meeting with a 4-6 record overall and a 1-2 Ivy record.

Yale's strength is in the goal, where senior keeper Rich Dressler continues to stymie offenses.

Dressler is the owner of a .656 save percentage and a 7.70 GAA, second in overall goalkeeping among Ivy goalkeepers to Princeton's Scott Bacigalupo.

He has 741 total saves in the Ivy career, 47 shots of the record (781). With our games left in the season, he has a good chance of breaking the record.

Yale attackman Tom Zaccagnino has been lighting up opponent's defenses. He is currently fourth among Ivy League players in overall scoring, with 25 goals and nine assists.

Last week, Zaccagnino combined with fellow attackman Simon Duxbury to score 13 goals in two games.

Zaccagnino was named Ivy League Player of the week for the week of March 28.

Harvard heads into the game after a close 18-17 loss to local rival Massachusetts last Wednesday.

Harvard's leading scorer, attackman Mike Eckart, has scored nine goals.

He also knows the meaning of teamwork, with a whopping 22 assists under his belt.

Captain Mike Porter and sophomore midfielder Spencer Rice also have been peppering opponents' goals for the Crimson. Porter has 13 goals and three assists and Rice has eight goals and four assists.

In the goal, freshman Rob Lyng and senior Matt Camp continue to get the job done.

Lyng is the owner of a 5.47 save percentage, and a 10.67 GAA. He was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the week of March 28.

Camp heads into today's game possessing a .564 save percentage and a 13.71 GAA.

After the losses against Massachussetts Wednesday and Princeton last Saturday, Harvard is hoping that a win against Yale will restore some of the momentum it had earlier this season.
