Jerry Green's recent resignation as Provost unfortunately has been the cause of unfounded and inaccurate speculation. During the last two years, he was a guest at nearly all meetings of the Harvard Corporation. We appreciated his vision it always stressed the whole of Harvard--a rare thing in our community. I valued his wisdom on a large variety of issues. His presence improved Corporation deliberations: he had abilities that we should seek in future members.
