Penn Ranked 25th

Can you believe it? The team that Harvard almost beat two weeks ago cracked the AP Top 25 this week.

That's right. The Pennsylvania Quakers, one-point victors over the Crimson on February 20, have now been judged by the nation's media as the country's 25th best men's basketball team.

With a record of 21-2, 11-0 Ivy, Penn has cruised all season. The Quakers have lost this season only to Ohio State and Temple, while defeating teams like Southern Cal, LaSalle, Washington and Georgia.

Penn's coach, at least, is taking the elevation in stride.

"In all honesty, what people think of us we don't have a lot of control over," said Penn Coach Fran Dunphy. "All you can do is play the game and hope that you're successful."

The players, on the other hand, seemed more excited.

"It's a once-in-a-lifetime kind of thing," said Scott Kegler, a junior guard for the Quakers. "It's something I'll always remember."

Penn fans shouldn't celebrate too long, however. The Quakers face a tough League game on Wednesday with Princeton.
