In the final paragraph of the article, which was about a rent control trial in Boston, Cambridge City Councillor William H. Walsh, an opponent of rent control, explained why he thinks rent control is a political payoff. "Because I offered to subsidize your college tuition," he told a Crimson reporter, "you'd vote for me, too."
