Shuttle Routes Altered Due to Construction

By Shine MAY Hung

Harvard Shuttle Operations rerouted its service this past Monday to avoid the ongoing Memorial Hall renovations.

Construction work now blocks the driveway behind Memorial Hall which until last week had been one of the shuttle's most popular stops.

Shuttle Operations Manager Karl Tempesta has moved the stop to the Oxford Street sidewalk beside the Science Center.

"Our major, concern, our first priority is safety," Tempesta said yesterday.

Two additional stops near the Law School--one on the corner of Everett and Oxford Streets and another at the Everett Street Garage--were also created.

None of the other stops or their times have changed.

The changes will cause minor delays since the stops are located where there are already stop signs, Tempesta said.

But Tempesta added that Harvard-affiliated shuttle-riders do not have to walk, as far to catch a bus to the Quad, Garden Street, the North Yard, the Law School, or the laboratories.

"It's actually worked out better [this way]," he said.

A pamphlet with information about the rerouting is available on the buses.
