Crimson Erred On Columbia

To The Editors:

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

If "a crummy football team is often the surest sign of a strong academic program," it is clear from Harvard's consistent drubbing of Columbia, that Columbia has a stronger academic program ("Alternative School Spirit," Opinion, Nov. 19th 1994). Indeed the Lions have demonstrated they represent the highest academic institution in history, having the longest losing streak of any collegiate team. Perhaps after this most recent loss to Yale, some Crimson students will improve their academic awareness and recognize Columbia for its excellence. --Roy Bercaw '70   Columbia University
