When the Harvard men's basketball team trucked into West Point last night, the Crimson didn't expect to see a firing squad.
But that was what Army guards Mark Lueking and Alex Morris amounted to, combining for 45 points in the Cadets' 69-66 victory over the Crimson last night.
For Harvard, it was a pretty sloppy game all around. Three Crimson guards--Captain Jared Leake, James White, and Dan Morris--fouled out, and none were on the floor for more than 26 minutes.
Also, Harvard could only muster a field goal percentage of 39.1 percent, and shot 21.7 percent from beyond the three-point arc.
The Crimson kept it close, nevertheless, behind strong front court performances from junior Darren Rankin and sophomore Kyle Snowden.
Rankin pulled in eight rebounds and tallied 16 points, while Snowden garnered six boards and 12 points.
And with less than six minutes to go in the game, it was Snowden's bucket that put the Crimson ahead--temporarily.
But it would not last. The Cadets pulled away the victory, and the Crimson went home in defeat.
