In an effort to boost house spirit, the Kirkland House Committee voted last night to hold a Harvard-Yale banner contest next week.
The committee allocated $50, $30 and $20 prizes from house funds to be awarded to the three best entries.
Members briefly debated the awards' dollar values, but larger prizes prevailed after one committee officer noted that the top prize was "enough to buy a keg."
The banners, which will be judged by house committee officers, must be submitted by noon Friday. Entries will be displayed in the Kirkland House dining hall.
The committee also accepted nominations for next Sunday's house committee elections. Committee chair Mary E. M. Rocha '95 said nominations will also be accepted at next week's meeting before the voting.
The committee also solicited beer brand suggestions for the next house Stein Club meeting this Thursday.
