By Andrew A. Green

The man accused of being the "ATM Bandit" of Cambridge faces a bail hearing in the city's district court this morning.

Willie J. Dorch, a 22-year-old Boston man, was arraigned Wednesday in connection with six incidents of theft at ATM machines in Cambridge between October 2 and October 11.

He has been charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, armed assault with intent to rob, confining and causing fear, breaking and entering and receiving stolen property.

All of the "Bandit's" victims were college students. The thefts occurred at sites in Harvard Square and near MIT.

According to Frank T. Pasquerello of the Cambridge Police Department, the "ATM Bandit" approached students on the street, showed them a firearm and forced them to withdraw cash.
