In the weeks immediately preceding the winter break, The Crimson received a flood of letters concerning the controversy over The Semitic Museum and the Crimson guest commentaries on that subject written by Martin Peretz and Frank Moore Cross. The vast majority of the letters appearing on this page were therefore written in mid-December but were unable to be printed promptly owing to the winter break.
