The historic declaration of principles between Israel and the Palestinian Liberation Organization took center stage at Lehman Hall last night, as Herbert Kelmann, Cabot professor of social ethics, spoke of his recent trip to the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The speech was the focus for the inaugural celebration of the University's new Palestinian-Israeli art exhibit, and was received by an audience of about 50 professors, undergraduates and graduate students.

Kelmann said it is his ultimate belief that the declaration of principles will prove acceptable to both Israelis and Palestinians.
