PBH Elects New President

Phillips Brooks House Association (PBH) filled five key positions, including the president's post, in a closed meeting last night.

After lengthy deliberations, the PBH election commission chose John B. King '95, a resident of Kirkland house, as its new president.

King beat out candidates Reshma Jagsi '95, Christina Ho '95, and Christopher J. Davidson '95 for the top spot.

In an interview last night, King said one of PBH's goals in the next year is to focus more on "service learning" and on "working with the University to include service learning in the Core curriculum and also in several academic departments."

Ho was chosen from the remaining candidates to serve as vice president.

"I am deeply looking forward to next year," said Ho. She said she especially wants to work on developing "staff and structure" at PBH during her tenure.

The candidates each gave a speech and participated in a question-and-answer session before the election commission, which is comprised of cabinet members in good standing.

Andrew J. Ehrlich '95 was named treasurer; Harretta E. Nero '95 was named secretary; Vincent P. Fiorino '95 was named events coordinator; and Jessica L. Hanover '95 and Anita J. Price '95 were named fundraisers.

Elections for new members of the Board of Directors and for the rest of PBH's executive positions will be held on December 15.

King has served as the director of the summer program at Mission Hill, as the co-director of the peace games and as the vehicles coordinator for PBH.
