The senior class marshals chose the 1994 class secretary and treasurer Monday, ensuring the possibility of continued communication among classmates after graduation.
The marshals selected Lowell resident Michael D. Rosenbaum '94 for class secretary and Kirkland resident Michelle D. Taylor '94 for class treasurer after a two-week process of reading resumes and conducting interviews.
Rosenbaum, a former Crimson executive, said his primary goal as secretary is to keep the class of 1994 together through frequent communication and get-togethers.
"I've done a wide variety of things and have gotten to know many very different people, and I wanted to keep the class together," Rosenbaum said. "I also love to throw parties, and I thought this would be an ideal way of doing these things."
Helping Keep In Touch
Taylor said she plans to concentrate on raising money to enable the class to keep in touch after graduation.
"For senior year we will be planning social events," Taylor said, "but we'll have to devise creative ways to raise money for the class."
A Series of Receptions
Rosenbaum said he hopes to set up a series of receptions next spring for high school seniors accepted to Harvard to speak to recent graduates.
"One thing I'd like to do is have receptions with people newly-admitted so that people who just get in can speak to someone who has just graduated," Rosenbaum said. "It's also a great opportunity for people from the class of '94 to get together."
Class Marshal Edward M. Gubbins '94 said the marshals were looking for officers who will bring the class together both this year and in the future.
"The general qualities," Gubbins said, "are someone who will transcend a lot of different groups, is very organized, has a lot of enthusiasm and is an honest person with a lot of experience who is really enthusiastic about the College."
