Masters Postpone Departure

To Stay at Mather

By June Shih, Crimson Staff Writer

Mather House Co-Masters Nancy P. and Jeffrey G. Williamson will stay in their posts while a committee seeks candidates for their replacement this summer and fall.

Because the search for new masters of Mather House went more slowly than hoped, the Williamsons agreed on Monday to stay another semester.

The search began after the Williamsons announced their departure this spring.

No 'Good Slate'

"The search went on during the spring semester and the University felt they didn't have the opportunity to develop a good slate of candidates," said Jeff Williamson who is also Bell professor of economics.

"We did have other plans but we thought it was important for the house that we stay." he added.
