Kilson Should Retract

To the Editors of the Crimson:

We would like to express our strong objection to the letter by Martin L. Kilson, Thomson professor of government, which appeared in the April 27 Crimson.

Kilson said that the "new upper-class white racism" was "brought to Harvard by The Harvard Salient."

Magazines such as the Salient were accused of "viciousness toward Black people" and participation in "the neoconservatives' and the New Right's white racist shenanigans."

What is Kilson talking about? There was no evidence given for this claim; it was simply a bald accusation.

We suggest that Professor Kilson substantiate this slander, or, in lieu of supporting evidence, retract it. Dianne Reeder '93
