John P. White, who served as an economic adviser in the Clinton campaign after designing much of Texas billionaire Ross Perot's economic plan, was named director of the Center for Business and Government and the Kennedy School of Government.

Dean Albert Carnesale said in a news release Wednesday that he had "great expectations" for White, who also worked in defense department and the Office of Management and Budget in the Carter Administration.

White will take part in a nationally-televised economic conference next week hosted by Clinton and Vice President-elect Al Gore '69.
