GSD Stages Annual Phonathon

The Graduate School of Design plans to raise $80,000 to $100,000 during its annual phonathon beginning this Monday.

The funds will be directed towards financial aid, according to Design School Director of Development Michael Voligny.

"We hope to engage more alumni this year than before," Voligny said. "We've regionalized things a lot more so that alumni council members [in different regions] can work to raise student funds."

The phonathon follows letters sent to approximately 8,000 alumni nationwide as part of the school's annual fundraising campaign, Voligny said.

Voligny said the target of $80,000 to $100,000 is comparable to past years' totals.

He said that the school hired students to make phone calls during the event.

"We've had a tremendous response at the School and at the University," Voligny said.
