Some Really Tough Picks

With the breadth of intercollegiate athletics at Harvard, it is seemingly impossible to pick athletes of the year from each of the three underclasses.

There are few Andre Wares and Stacey Augmons at Harvard, but there are so many other athletes who either dominate their sport in Ivy League competition or play a major role on a title-winning team.

And choosing just three such people to represent the highest in athletic achievement at Harvard is almost superficial and certainly cannot be fair to the effort and time committed by so many others to the 40-plus Crimson teams.

But, faced with a choice, The Harvard Crimson Sports Cube found three people who made a huge impact this year. Winning and records were not sufficient criteria.

They may not necessarily be the best "athletes" in their class, but they brought the most excitement to Harvard fans. They are the most valued by their respective teammates. They provided the most exciting athletic moments of the year.
