Jefferson Launches Campaign for Senate

BOSTON--Dr. Mildred Jefferson, a Republican and anti-abortion activist, launched her campaign for U.S. Senate yesterday, saying she wants to break into the "millionaire boys club" in Washington.

Jefferson becomes the third Republican seeking to unseat U.S. Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass). Real estate developer Jim Rappaport and business leader Daniel W. Daly '65 are already in the race.
