To the Editors of The Crimson:
No thank you for your irresponsible journalism. You have misled a large number of students by several erroneous statements in your article on Student Insurance Health coverage. First and foremost, there is no "delay" in coverage. All students who have not waived the Harvard Blue Cross/Blue Shield (BC/BS) Student Insurance are covered as of September 1, 1990. All of these students, numbering approximately 10,000 have been registered with the insurance company. Having a number is not a prerequisite for treatment by hospitals. No student covered by BC/BS has been sent to a collection agency due to the delay in obtaining an identification number.
Please get all the facts before you publish. David S. Rosenthal, M.D. Director University Health Services
