The women's lacrosse team ran like a rabbit and left Princeton and Maryland searching for eggs this Easter weekend, capturing a 6-2 victory over the Tigers in Princeton, N.J. and a 10-5 slam over the Terrapins in College Park, Md.

The Crimson dove for ground balls and capitalized on Princeton's middling stickwork to gain control Saturday. The Tigers were tame compared to how they played at the William and Mary tournament.

"We saw them at William and Mary and they looked really good," said junior Julia French, "but it was a different team that came out on the field to play us."

Co-Captain Lisi Bailliere seconded the motion.

"We thought they would be better, but we really played pretty well," said Bailliere.

Harvard hopped over to Maryland the next day and blew the shells off the Terrapins. Co-Captain Katie McAnaney basketed four goals and French collected three. Ceci Clarke, Bailliere and Char Joslin pitched in with one apiece.

"They're traditionally a strong team that plays in the Southern style," said Bailliere.

The North won again.

The Crimson hit the field supercharged and hiked the score up to 9-2 by halftime, but had a frustrating second half.

"We came out flying in the first half. It was great," French said.

"Second half we let up and the refs made some bad calls. It was tough," Bailliere said.

"Tough" was an understatement for French.

"Second half we sort of freaked out and started yelling at the refs," said French, "but we cleared it up at the end."

Harvard scrimmaged Trenton Wednesday, and practiced its shooting in a 17-3 rout.

"The week of practice and scrimmage went really well," said Bailliere. "Without the pressure of a game, I think we got a lot out of it."
