Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
A Chauncy St. resident was arrested at his home at about I a.m. yesterday after he allegedly stabbed a pregnant woman to death in a Brookline restaurant, police said.
Somnuk Viriyahiranpaib, who is believed to be in his early 30s, was charged with two counts of murder, Brookline Police Det. Barry McNeilly said.
Paichit Linpiyavarn of Somerville, who worked as waitress at the Thai Pattaya restaurant, was fatally stabbed there around 10:45 p.m. Sunday night. Her husband, Voravit Larpchardenrus, 35, who is a chef at the restaurant, was also stabbed in the attack, but he survived, the detective said.
According to police, the alleged assailant is also a chef at the restaurant but Sunday was his day off.
The husband was stabbed in the arm but survived the attack to call police. He and his wife are from Somerville, police said.
Larpchardenrus said he and his wife were attacked in a rear alley as wife were attacked in a rear alley as they left the restaurant.
A probable cause hearing has been set for May 4.
Harvard police were not involved in the arrest, a dispatcher said last night.
