MARQUETTE, Mich.--Junior goaltender Mark Romaine (30 saves) recorded his first collegiate shut out as Providence closed the door on Northern Michigan, 2-0, last night in the deciding game of the NCAA Division I men's hockey best-of-three playoff series.
Junior Rick Bennett fired in the game-winner just 1:03 into the first period.

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich.--Anthony Palumbo scored a goal and added an assist as the Lake Superior State hockey team defeated St. Cloud State, 4-2, Saturday to sweep the series and advance to the quarterfinals of the NCAA playoffs.
The Lakers (29-9-6), the defending national champions, will face Harvard at Bright Center this Friday in the opening game of a best-of-three series.

The Eagles (24-9-4) swept the best-of-three series and advanced to the quarterfinals against Michigan State this Friday in Lansing, Mich.
