Although the Harvard hockey team's 5-4 Beanpot victory over Boston College Monday put the Crimson in the title game for the first time since 1981, it didn't help the Crimson hold on to its number-one ranking in the NCAA poll.
Yes, the poll pointed to Harvard's 3-1 loss to Yale last week as the determining factor.
The poll, which was released hours before the opening 'Pot game between the Eagles and the Crimson, gave the top slot to Michigan State, with Harvard dropping down to the number-two position.
