Harvard will kick off its second annual AWARE (Actively Working Against Racism and Ethnocentrism) Week this evening, but this time, administrators and student organizers are hoping to do more than simply make students aware.
With three days of workshops, panel discussions and speeches--including one tonight at the Kennedy School of Government--the week's planners are hoping to concentrate more on how students can actively combat racism, and not just recognize where it exists.
"Last year we were promoting awareness, but this year we want to discuss what things need to be done," said Nitza A. Agrait '91, a member of the AWARE Week Planning Committee.
