Harvard basketball freshman Ralph James was named the Ivy League "Rookie of the Year" yesterday.
James, who led the Crimson in scoring (14.5) and rebounding (5.7) in the past year, is the third Crimson cager to cop the award, and the first since Bob Ferry in 1981-'82.
"It makes me feel good to know people around the league respect me in this way," James said. "This inspires me even more to work hard in the spring."
In other basketball news, juniors Tri-Captain Mike Gielen and Neil Phillips were named co-captains for the 1988-'89 season.
The two Kirkland roommates replace Tri-Captains Bill Mohler and Kyle Dodson.
