AT THE RECOUNT

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Pamela Thomure, campaign manager for State Rep. Saundra Graham (D-Cambridge), pauses during yesterday's recount, which lasted from mid-morning until 7 p.m.

Graham herself no longer challenges the general election victory of Democratic nominee Alvin E. Thompson, but her supporters are still charging that voting irregularities cheated her out of the election.

Election Commissioner Sondra Scheir directs former poll workers who returned for the special recount yesterday. The city hired 40 counters at $7 per hour for the day.

Supporters of both candidates were on hand to observe the process, which switched 13 ballots to Graham and 79 to Thompson.
