MADISON, Wis.--Former Democratic presidential contender Gary Hart, who dropped out of the race over allegations of an extra-marital affair, might re-enter the race, Hart's former campaign manager said yesterday.
William Dixon, in an interview with a Madison radio station, said he thought it was "clearly possible and even probable that Senator Hart will re-enter the presidential race."
Dixon said a decision could come within the next month.
Hart is currently traveling in Ireland and is scheduled to return to the United States in about four days, Dixon said.
Hart withdrew from the race for the Democratic nomination on May 8, 26 days after his campaign officially started. He had beef bombarded with questions about his relationship with Donna Rice, a Miami who reportedly spent a night at Hart's Washington home.
Hart said the intense scrutiny of his personal life had created an "intolerable situation."
