A memorial service for Thelma K. Letteney, former assistant dining hall manager in Quincy House will be held today at 2 p.m. at St. John's Methodist Church in Watertown.
Letteney died Tuesday after a brief illness. She was 58.
A New Hampshire native, Letteney was a schoolteacher before coming to Harvard dining services in August of 1953.
From 1953 until 1983, she worked in Kresge Dining Hall at the Harvard Business School. She then moved across the river to become Food Service Supervisor in Quincy House. Shortly after coming to Quincy, she was promoted to assistant manager.
Letteney is survived by a sister, and several nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Minnie Letteney.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John's Methodist Church.
