The Harvard men's golf team placed 11th in the 13-team field of the New England Championships last Thursday and Friday. The Crimson finished with a two-day, eight-round total of 665, 63 points behind first-place Hartford.
Hartford golfers collected four of the top five individual awards in winning the competition by 23 shots overall.
John Pickett copped the low-score honors for Harvard on Friday by shooting a 79, while Terry Murray followed with an 82. Rounding out the Crimson squad were Mike McGowan (84), Tom Aucamp (85), and Co-Captain Ian Bickley (88).
"I think people were just disappointed at the first day's [10th place] showing, so it was hard to get things rolling," Bickley said. "It was cold and wet, but it was the same for everybody, so you can't really make excuses."
Harvard's next match is Tuesday at Brown. The Crimson placed ahead of the Bruins at the Ivy League Tournament last week.
