John Catliff, a senior forward who tallied 11 goals for the Harvard men's soccer team this fall, has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division I First Team.

Catliff, who returned to action in 1986 after missing last fall with a knee injury, is the first Crimson booter since Chris Papagianis in 1972 to cop First Team All-America honors.

Catliff scored three goals in post-season action as Harvard advanced to the NCAA semifinals before losing to Duke, the eventual national champion, 3-1 in Durham, N.C.

Catliff--who closed his Crimson career with 34 goals and 15 assists--was also named First Team All-Ivy and First Team All-New England in 1986.
