Gompers, who outdistanced his nearest competitor by over a minute, completed the 10,000-meter course in 23:44. Joe LeMay and Jon Luff, both of Princeton, crossed the finish line together in 24:56 to claim second and third place, respectively.
The next Harvard finisher was John Lewis, who placed 13th with a time of 25:47. Other Crimson runners in the top 20 included Michael Curtis (16th, 25:49) and Brian Cann (17th, 25:52).
For the women, Yale extended its undefeated record to 5-0 by scoring 20 points to edge Princeton (38) and Harvard (73).
The Bulldogs' Kelly Groteke claimed first place honors with a time of 16:42 over the 5000-meter course. She was followed by Princeton's Jane Erdmann (16:56) and Yale's Susannah Beck (17:03).
The top finisher for Harvard was Toby Warden, who completed the race with an eighth-place time of 17:26. Kathleen Toner was the only other Crimson runner in the top 15, covering the course in 17:52 to place 14th.
Both the Harvard men's and women's teams used the race to gear up for next weekends Heptagonals, to be held at New York's Van Cortlandt Park.
