The Penn-Brown match-up this past Saturday in Providence, R.I. figured to be a pretty tough test for the Quakers, who are trying to snatch a record-tying fifth consecutive Ivy title.

But the game turned into a romp for Penn, which rolled to a 34-0 victory in front 11,500 stunned fans at Brown Stadium.

Penn was led by outstanding performances by its two star running backs, Chris Flynn and Rich Comizio. Flynn rushed for 117 yards on 12 carries (9.8 yards per carry) and two touchdowns and Comizio added 113 yards on 23 carries.

Brown was held to seven first downs and 174 total yards, while the Quakers rolled up 465 total yards (326 on the ground) and 28 first downs.

Penn struck in the first quarter when a long snap flew over the head of punter Alex Kos. Penn took over at the Brown 24-yd. line and, two plays later, quarterback Jim Crocicchia found Brent Novoselsky for a scoring pass.

That was all Penn would need as the Quaker defense shut down the Bruins the rest of the way.
