What better way to open one of the few notebooks you don't have to study during exam period than with a quick glance at the standings:
Nothing much has changed in the Ivies since the Crimson swept Penn and Princeton out of Cambridge two weekends ago. The women cagers remain atop the league standings and are assured of being there when they meet Yale in their first post-exam period Ivy match-up.
The big showdown--in which Harvard will seek to avenge its only Ivy defeat of the season--will take place January 31 at Briggs Athletic Center, where the Crimson is 6-2 this season.
But first thing's first.

Harvard is currently boasting its third three-game winning streak of the year. Crimson Coach Kathy Delaney Smith said she doesn't anticipate that the three-week layoff will hurt her team, which is spending the exam break by playing an intrasquad game each day.

From the Team Stat Bureau, the hoopsters have now raised their record to 8-0 in games in which they have led at the half, 6-0 when they've committed less than 25 turnovers, and 10-1 when their bench has outscored the opponent's bench.
Also, last year's Crimson team set a new Harvard single-season record by shooting 60 percent from the foul line. Through their first 14 contests this season, the cagers are shooting at a 70 percent clip.
From the Individual Stat Bureau, freshman Sarah Duncan still holds the team leads in both field goal percentage (.500) and free throw percentage (.889). The Chicago native has connected on an unbelievable 17 straight from the charity stripe and has increased her team-leading blocked shots total to 30.
A trio of sophomores lead the squad in several other categories: Sharon Hayes leads the team in scoring (10.0 points per game), Nancy Cibotti in rebounding (6.6 rebounds per game), and Barbarann Keffer in assists (51) and steals (29).
And finally, back by popular demand is the What Happens When Anna Collins is the Leading Anything stat. Well folks, the hoopsters are still 4-0 when the Livonia, Mich. native is leading rebounder, 3-0 when she is high scorer, and 4-0 when she has lead the team in steals.
