Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
The Harvard Foundation this week announced the recipients of its spring semester grants to student organizations which work to improve race relations at Harvard.
The four-year-old foundation awarded $8300 to 20 religious, political, and cultural student groups, ranging from a $150 grant to the Chinese Student Association for a publication to an $800 award to Chicano student group RAZA for a forum on Hispanics in higher education.
Among the groups reversing grants and their plans:
* The Harvard Radcliffe Christian Fellowship is planning to use its award to organize an April 13 colluquium on the history of racism and how Christianity can overcome racism, according to Tom Rice '86, a member of the Fellowship.
* The Association of Black Radcliffe Women (ABRW) will use its foundation grant to partially finance a $1000 college scholarship for a local Black female high school senior Part of the grant will also cover costs of the recent Black Alumni Weekend, which ABRW sponsored with other Black student groups, said association president Anne Bailey '86.
* The Harvard-Radcliffe international Development Forum will use its grant to continue to fund events that increase public awareness of Third World issues of hunger, political instability, and economic inequality, said let chairman. Eggert Dagbjartsson '86. The Forum also promote effects to aid underdeveloped countries and create more economic and political stability in countries such as Lebanon and Ethiopia, Dagbjartsson added.
