A Dartmouth development officer will become the University's new Director of Corporations and Foundations in the University Development Office on February 4, officials announced yesterday.
J Ernest ("Jerry") Nunnally, who has held a similar post at Dartmouth since 1978, will oversee the solicitation of funds from companies and philanthropic foundations for the College and the Faculty. He will also advise the University's nine graduate schools.
Corporate and foundation giving is key to Harvard's fundraising efforts. Of the $ 356 million raised in the five-year Harvard Campaign, which wound up December 31, some $ 10.7 million came from corporations and $ 1.5 million from foundations, according to Development Office spokesman David W. Johnson '68.
Nunnally, a graduate of Dillard University in New Orleans who is married with two children, succeeds Thomas W Stephenson. Stephenson was recently named General Secretary for the University's upcoming 350th anniversary celebration in 1986.
