Cambridge: Expect Retribution

To the Editors of The Crimson:

A pornographic film attacking and mocking the dignity and purity of the Mother of God will certainly make Cambridge, Mass. a target for retribution from the Most High. Expect it! Be it nuclear, a tornado, an earthquake, or whatever. Christ has asked that that film [Hail Mary] be removed from this country, from any country, and has promised in the Bayside Messages great action against those responsible for displaying such depravities.

Such blasphemy would never be allowed in a Moslem country as they honor the Blssed Virgin Mary (it was thrown out of Italy); while in the heartland of the USA the people would never allow such insults to the Mother of Jesus Christ and mockery of the Holy Bible. It was our Poet, Longfellow, who wrote of Mary as "Mankind's solitary boast." Why would the people of Massachusetts allow this filth anytime, but especially now in the Christmas season? The author takes the Magnificat, the great prayer of Mary wherein She praises God: "My sould doth magnify the Lord. My spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour." etc. and has the film character, Mary, curse God, use obscenities, and reject her child.

The average man on the street would not allow his Mother's name or memory to be defamed. All power on heaven and earth has been given to Jesus Christ and he will use it against any and all who allow His Mother of Purity to be defamed in any way. Edith R. Maher
