Kirkland House G-entry residents last night experience something that stank even worse than midterms, when a basement sewage pipe developed a small leak and spewed odorous fumes all over the first floor.
Pat J. McAleavey, an operations supervisor for Facilities Maintenance, said early this morning that "we'll get it repaired tomorrow. In the morning, they'll find something to clean up the water and keep the stink down.
McAleavey said the problem was caused by a "pinhole leak" in the pipe.
G-entry residents were not so sure that it was a sewer pipe, though.
"I think it's from the girls in room 22," said first floor resident G. David Flanagan '88 said. His roommate, Robert B. Cleary '88, disagreed, "No, it's from the girls in 31."
But Molly H. Clark '88, a resident of G-22, said "it smells like something died." The women in suite 31 were not available for comment.
