A last-minute pass from reserve quarterback Kelly Ryan to Mike Stewart gave Yale a 19-15 upset victory over Holy Cross at the Yale Bowl Saturday.
Yale starter Mike Curtin--suffering from an injured knee--was removed from the game with two minutes to play and the Bulldogs facing a third-and-11 from their own 33. Stewart connected with tight end Dean Athanasia for the first down and then drove his team the remainder of the field for the winning score.
Yale (2-1) took a 12-0 in the first half on the strength of a 40-yd. pass from Curtin to Kevin Moriarty and a two-yd. Ted Macauley run. Kicker John Duryea missed both extra points.
