Harvard the corporate bureaucracy is showing its appreciation today for its 17,000 faculty and staff with a bring-the-whole-family, take-your-own-food picnic and football affair.
"At workplaces all over the United States there's a trend toward worker relations," says Vicki West, coordinator of Outings and Innings, which organized the gala event.
Some workplaces more than others, she adds. Her office "can't even afford to have a full picnic."
